We live close to sea level but we adventure far, wide, and high. How do we as New Yorkers train for our trips, races and travels to mountainous places? Tonight, Coach Hammond will teach us all about altitude and how we can prepare. We'll also have an opportunity to actually feel what's happening by pulling on the altitude mask (thanks Hypoxico Systems!) and trying out a few jumping jacks - at a simulated 10,000 feet.

Tonight's presentation will include:
  • The physiological changes that occur at altitude. Why you are affected
  • How the body acclimates
  • Influences on training
  • How to prepare both mentally and physically
  • Q and A
  • Trying out the Hypoxico system

Location: Fontanas at 105 Eldridge Street New York, NY 10002

Want to meet other New Yorkers who live in the city and love the outdoors? Join us at our Final Expo on June 7th for an epic day of celebrating the NYC outdoors community.
